Title: Great sail this past weekend
Post by: Riggerdood on Sep 11, 2024, 12:04 AM
Nice sail out to Arch Rock, Anacapa Island this past weekend. Great sailing, great friends, and yummy dockside cookouts! And yes, even the elusive Ron Dietel made an appearance, but he took his U20 on a race while 4 of us other boats sailed out to The Rock and back.  ;D

Bad angle of the arch, but it's there, I promise!

Six people on four boats.

Getting ready for a dockside cookout. There's Ron! Also my buddy David, in the dark blue shirt, who some here might recognize from the PSHH. Or not, now that he's sporting that salt 'n' pepper beard ...  ;D

Wow, looks like a great time, Tim! Good to see Ron in the wild and David! So how fast IS that new boat of Ron's?

It was! The conditions really couldn't have been much better. Out and back on one tack, lots of sail trim practice. 23.1 nm round trip, 6 hours total.

I didn't actually see Ron's boat sailing, as he went and did a race while we sailed out to Anacapa, but I did finally get to see it up close and in person in the marina, and it is definitely built for speed!  8)
