Title: WWP 19 cabin support
Post by: nimbostratus on Jun 30, 2025, 08:08 PM
Hi all,

The support pillar that holds up the cabin top gave out. The boat had about 10 inches of water inside when I got it and the laminated wood rotted through and gave out. Fortunately the centerboard is down and the boat is floating at a guest dock.

My current plan is to trim down the top section of a laser mast and put two mahogany blocks at either end.

If anyone else had to replace this I would like to know your solutions or if there is a ballpark height I should be aiming for.

For now I'm just glad it gave out the day after I came back for Catalina.

Mine is a 2000 P19.  By my measurement from the very, "point" at the bottom where it nests with the hull angles to the underside of the cabin top is 55".
Hope that helps?
