Title: Bag of Luck

"You start off with a full bag of Luck and an empty bag of experience. The trick is to fill the bag of experience before you empty the bag of Luck."

To some degree it has seemed that way this year. Was at the club to race and grill Saturday. Did enjoy socializing with members that aren't in the racing fleet, but the wind didn't cooperate and there was no racing that day. I guess that's a mix of bags. Headed back to the club today, hoping to do some sailing. had several health issues that kept me from doing as much physical activity as usual. however, I feel lucky for my age. With age comes lots of experiences in life. Most of them make me smile.

I guess we all have those memories. And most of us experiences too! :D Yesterday, I sailed in the middle of a three day norther, although it didn't rain. Only the temp dropped a little in the morning but the wind turned stiff out of the north, although, unless you got in an open place you couldn't tell it. There are so many trees and obstacles to it that it channels the flow down the river. Fun sailing with a reef, with the leech thrumming it's happy sound. I wouldn't get close to River Road because of the trees, although I tried a couple of times. It's really pretty there. No pics because you are just too busy and unsteady to even try with the camera and I almost never use the cell camera. I explored the lake a little because it sits on the edge of a maze of grass and bayous where my bud was fishing. In one place there was a whole tree washed up near Rabbit Island. The water is turning that pretty color that means the fish are biting. All next week has no indications of rain, either!

I did make it to the club yesterday. A bit latter than I had hoped. The wind was gusting to 29mph. I had a couple of things I hoped to try out with the rigging which turned out not to be improvements and became distracted with a couple of other boat projects that had been put off. I ended up not sailing but towed the boat the hour back home from the club where I can get things done more efficiently and not require a 2 hour round trip to the club. All in all, I actually enjoyed the day and look forward to finishing the work on the boat at home. Just not as much fun as you had yesterday.
