Awoke early this morning so I could run errands before picking my wife up at the arport. Because of the flight time I missed the "Greens Creek Challenge". It's a fun race on our creek for sailboats 20' or less. There's a bonus for the team that finds the rubber chicken.
So, I spent the morning driving to various places before heading to the airport. There are only 2 terminals, so at noon I began wondering why she hadn't come out. I phone her to find her flight comes in at 1109 PM!
This is why I need reading glasses.
Been there; done that! Very frustrating. To misread one letter or number can have significant consequences.
Way back in the day, before I had a cell phone, I was waiting on my ex wife to get back from Romania. I went to the gate at Miami International (already not a fun place to be), around 9pm. I waited until 10 pm, people getting off of the flight, she wasn't there. Checked with the gate, they would not tell me if she was on the flight, or missed it, or anything. Waited until after midnight. There wasn't any way for her to contact, me, we didn't have cell phones. I went all the way back home, and waited by the phone. I called out to work the next day, and she caught a taxi back and arrived home around 11am. Basically she was detained on the other end, going through security. The drug sniffing dogs went nuts at her luggage. No drugs, just a large roll of sausage she was trying to bring home. Only one thing drug dogs like better than finding drugs, is finding sausage! I laugh about it now, but at the time it was extremely stressful. True story for your entertainment!
