Norman called today. He informed me that he fell about three weeks ago and broke his hip. They did a hip replacement and he's in rehab. He's improving and walked 250' with a couple breaks in a wheel chair that they role behind him. He recently turned 92. He has no internet connection in the rehab unit so he misses terribly his internet friends. Shirley is doing well though she's nervous for him coming "home". His mind still seems sharp. I didn't think to ask, but I'll check and see if he minds me sharing his phone number.
Thanks for the heads up. Hope he makes a quick recovery. I enjoy his input here and think highly of him.
My dad broke his hip at 93. He passed away near the end of last September about a month shy of 102. Tomorrow is opening of turkey season. We hunted them together until he broke his hip. I will be scouting for a bird at dawn this morning. And hunting with a turkey call I gave him for Father's Day in 1983. I will be thinking of him and Norman this morning while in the woods.
