Title: Replacing the furling jib on my P15
Post by: Tollerowner on Jun 21, 2026, 01:42 PM
AI tells me it is simply a matter of removing the jib from the furling hardware as always and installing the new one as always.  I warns it might be shorter and then stretch a bit, so may have to adjust the side stays a few times.
Is it that simple?  I pictured moving the wire from one to the other and such.

Can't speak on the P15 specifically but for the boats I've worked on in that size range (Catalina 16.5), the wire was sewn into the luff of the jib - or at least it came with the jibs.

So we didn't have to remove the luff wires from the old jibs and transfer them to the new ones.
