Just purchased a potter 19 and trying to figure out rigging... Seems there is no backstay on my potter.... Is that normal

If you go down to the bottom of the menu page, you will find a separate Potter board.

It's optional from the factory and not required (at least on my '85 P-19). Take a look at the position of the chainplates for the side stays compared to the mast step, there's lots of offset to keep the mast from falling forward. : )

For a some of the Potter 19 production run during some of the company owners the backstay was an option.

Having one isn't mandatory as the spreaders/shrouds are swept aft.

Much better sail control with a backstay and adjuster.

As mentioned post in the Potter subforum.  The group is more active in their Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/groups/758204287642371
