Bobbie never spent much time around bigger boats growing up.
She has tolerated me walking docks for the last 9 years .
Finally she says " That's our next boat !" . I guess I better make friends with a broker .
Anybody know how to tell her it's not even for sale ?

I tried to do a search for you but there are 9 MISS LILLY recreational boats registered with the USCG.
Well, it could be worse. She could have picked one with 4 engines off the transom! Actually, pretty nice boat there and looks well taken care of. One of my buds got a trawler and I went on it at a boat show. It was VERY nice and I could see why he chose it. Haven't seen him since so who knows....he may have sailed off into the sunset!
I did a quick internet search . It's a Pilgrim 40 trawler .
I found several for sale at about $100 K . So they are affordable to some extent .
After some scrolling through interior pictures ,she asked
if this was the kind of boat one might use to do "The Great Loop " ?
A few years back ,Bobbie never even heard of the The Great Loop .
The very fact that she's even considering all of this might just mean I'm wearing her down !

It burns the same amount of diesel at 6 knots that my sailboat does and it's 46 feet long.

Last fall Bobbie and I drove down to Racine to look at a boat for Tom Parrent , yeah ,he's still around .
The boat was a 45' trawler . Bobbie had never been in a larger boat like that before .
She was very impressed by the amenities . Especially the washer and dryer!!!
the queen size walkaround bed with a seperate head had her thinking that perhaps she just might like spending more than a night on a boat
Wayne, Ranger is a great boat. I don't think it has the seakeeping of a Hunt but is great for the water that I would probably be in anyway.
I was reading on the Pilgrim 40. There was a comment that the writer would love to have it to cruise the canals of Europe. Definitely not with a flying bridge and you don't want to mess with the mast. With wise mapping you can travel some of the canals but many canals have fixed bridges. On a trip in a standard rental design with standing head room below, for one bridge we had to fold down the tiny mast for flags and running light and with us ducked down in the cockpit cleared the center of the bridge by 4".
