Title: “Windy” and “WindHub”
Post by: Quantico Frank on Aug 19, 2024, 09:12 AM
I thought I would bring to your attention the new app from the developers of Windy, my go-to app for sailing, called WindHub. It has the addition of posting local small craft warnings in the same app I use for everything else. This could be a "me issue," but I used to have to look around in a lot of other places to see if small craft warnings are posted. Ironically, when I wrote the developers of Windy about my need for local small craft warnings, they told me they will be including them in WindHub last week. Feeling like I'm on a bit of a roll with them, and since they've been so responsive, I'm now asking for a scale of miles on their charts, lol.

Just an FYI.

I get the National weather Service reports for Long Island Sound, which have been okay. The predictions are not spot on, but generally not far off. Wind direction is normally not a problem, as once I am out of the river I have N, E or west wide open.
