Rural home. Septic system is what we call conventional up here. Holding tank and drain field. Others are not as fortunate and need to put a mound system in or just holding tanks. Me thinking life is good relative to poo costs. System was put in when I built the house back in '93. WI is a bit strict on septic regs. Pump out and inspection at a minimum of every 3 years. Every day late is a $500/day fine.  Better a bit too early than too late. My pumper was in the area.  Had him stop by for servicing. Concrete tank with a concrete lid. Lid had cracked. Need a new cover. The problem is the age of the tank, concrete and all the local installers only stock plastic/polymer lids that are standardized to various plastic holding tanks or concrete tanks with plastic risers. One installer recommended one of their wholesalers who specializes in concrete casted tanks and lids. Issue is it will be a "custom" sized lid they can probably cast. Add a couple hour round trip drive to pick up a ~70 pound chunk of concrete. Costs???So....internet search time. Every septic tank site I found had a variety of glass reinforced polymer lids and risers except the size I needed. Desperation time. Amazon search. Found one sold by Amazon. 60 pound shipping weight. Should be easier to handle and install. 2 parts. Hopefully shipped in two boxes making it even easier to handle.

Now just need to find some form of butyl rubber or calking that I can mount the mounting ring on the tank riser. Suggestions of something that sticks to both concrete and polymer?
