New boat is 820 miles away, and I probably won't get up there until June. I am working some on the Oday to get it ready to sell. I've sealed up the deck joint and I'm pretty sure that I've got that solved finally. The problem is that the hull liner is now badly stained because it took so long to figure out the actual reason for the leaks. If I was keeping the boat I might actually replace the liner, but I'm going to clean it up the best I can and let it go. For now I'm trying to do some reading. I had read "sailing a serious Ocean a while ago, but now it actually means more to me. It's cool that the PS 31 actually has all of the features that he promotes. Also reading up on my diesel engine and perusing a Lake Superior cruising guide. Other than that, it looks like the XC Ski trails are open in Northern Michigan. Might be time for a road trip!

Also, I just finished "The Gales of November", a new book about the Edmond Fitzgerald. The book goes off in a lot of different directions, or covers lots of ground. The part about the wreck itself is short, as there isn't a lot to tell. Here are my takeaways;
  I'm used to reading about people from way back in time. Not so with this, about a third of the crew was born between 1953 and 1955. I was born in 54. Their pictures look so much like photos I have of me and my buddies, very spooky.
  The depiction of the storm might have me thinking twice about cruising on Superior.
  I spent a lot of time looking at my Navionics charts and at  Boat Nerd AIS, which I am now addicted to. (Google it, and you may form a new habit as well) I've used it while sailing, but sitting at home and following ships, that I'm familiar with, plying up and down the Great Lakes is pretty cool.

I recommend the book.
