Except it's foggy at night. The fish are biting though! You cannot view this attachment.

Is that a red drum? That's huge!

That smile is almost as big as the fish!

Yes, that's a red drum Wolverine. That's my neighbor and I watched as he fought the fish for about twenty minutes. I could tell he couldn't do anything with it and just had to hold on. So I took a picture for him and e-mailed it to him for the record book. That thing was heavy....over 30 lbs. Closer to 40. That's a real-life bull red.

Nice is relative. Currently we are under six inches of fresh powdery snow. Looks great, and our two cats are sitting in the window seat looking at all the birds seeking shelter in the bushes. Little do they know that their human will be out there soon with the snow blower. Last year my cross country skis bit the dust (delaminated!) so no adventures through the local nature preserve trails today (very beautiful in the snow). More snow this year, so far, than in the last few combined. Funny that I keep getting email alerts about a big sale at West Marine (while the boat is under a snowy tarp). After I clear my property, my son and I are off to clear a friend's walkway and drive (he has a heart condition). So off we go into a snowy "wonderland".

We had a great time last year when it snowed. That's a rare occasion here...maybe every 10-15 years. I don't think we'll make it this year but who am I? Anyway, Sonya made me put on long pants to go by the Labrot House and I really didn't need them. You can see my bud with sandals and tee. But IMMEDIATELY as the sun went down, I needed a jacket. All the leaves are falling now, and I suppose it is winter in the Southland. Which this year, has been warm. I always try and go at this time of the solstice because the sun ALMOST makes it in the water to the west and Graveline Bayou. You're pretty much guaranteed a pretty sight if there IS sun.
