Hello all, my 37  year old Richie compass has died. I do not intend to replace it but would like to cover the bulk head hole with something very thin. It currently is right in the middle of my back if I set on that side. I will cover the inside cabin hole with a barometer from one of the wall hanging home type.

What have you do it yourselfers used?

Stay safe,

I had a similar situation when I bought my RS22. There was an inoperable Humminbird fish finder in the bulkhead, which I removed. It left a 4" hole in both sides of the bulkhead. On the outside, I found that the screw in lid from an inspection port fit snugly in the hole, and I just stuck it to the bulkhead with butyl tape. On the inside I covered the hole with a 5" plain, flat, round plastic plate I had in my "box of stuff". If I'd had two of them I'd have used the same on the outside. Maybe something similar would work in your situation?
