Morning Walk on Atlantic Beach, NC

I think mornings are the best time to be walking on the beach. There are few people out before sunrise. There are new shells etc. left stranded by the tide. It is cooler this time of year. And the changing multicolored sky and water please my eyes. I hope these photos caught some of this.

I was born in Queens county NY which is on Long Island and have always lived very close to a beach. Growing up we were just over 2 city blocks from the beach. You probably have the image of something like Coney Island in Brooklyn but Rockaway Beach in Queens was very different, small beach homes and a some apartments, with many open sand lots. I spent many, many days on the beach, fishing, swimming and roaming. Those photographs remind me of the quiet fall days after the summer people had closed their bungalows. I was born in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. At the age of 5 we moved to Rivera Beach. I was a short bike ride to the Intracoastal Waterway and about a mile to the beach. I now live about 3 hours from the coast and 3 hours from the mountains in the Piedmont of SC. I don't spend as much time on saltwater as I would like but can drive down and back to spend the day paddling. I do the same to flyfish mountain streams so can't really complain. I am hopeful that I will do some sailing at the coast when the weather cools down. I enjoy taking photos that allow me to revisit those trips when I can't get away. It is pleasing that y'all enjoy them too. Thanks everyone.
