A good season is just about done.

Have to be off my buoy by the 9th but since I'm out of town the weekend of the 7th and 8th, I'll probably pull my boat some time next week, - maybe as soon as next Monday.

Before that I'll try and get out for the full moon either Friday or Saturday night, and then for the end of the season regatta on Sunday.

22 weeks of sailing at an average of twice a week puts me at ~ 44 sailing days this year. Some short, some long. A few overnights. Some in Europe, some not. :)

A little sad it's just about over but I'm ready to focus on some other things for awhile.

That constitutes a pretty great season in my book, Tom. I got out a lot early in the season, especially with the trip to Norfolk in June, but maybe only a couple times in July/August and a few times so far in September. Much of the problem has been wx, or lack there of, and a lot has been scheduling conflicts due to work, grandkids, etc. Not a strong sailing season for me.

I'm out for the season.....  :'(

Hurricane Lee forced me to pull out both boats. I've put my power boat back in (because it's easy).

Today I put the Winter tarp frame on my P-165. It gets closed up tomorrow.

I'd be a terrible true "trailer sailor" because the set up / tear down takes long enough that I find it de-motivating unless I'll be in the water for a while (I'm spoiled).

I did have a very good sailing season with 20 sessions (half of Tom's times out).  Last year I learned to take the "reef early" lesson to heart and it really improved the quality of my sailing.

You probably sailed your boat as much as I sailed mine Dan. Maybe more. I'm counting the 5 days we sailed in Croatia and the weekly youth sailing outings which were on different boats.

I'd also make a terrible trailer-sailor though I think it's mostly psychological. It probably seems like more work than it is. I had to drop the mast once this Summer to do some work and then step it/launch again. It went pretty quick. People like Brian have it down to a science.

It's certainly nice to be able to be out the door and sailing in under 30 minutes (if I'm motivated) but the downside is that I'm too lazy to take my boat somewhere else so I end up doing most of my sailing on the same old boring little lake.

Although not officially over, my sailing season was minimal. The docks and finger piers come out around October 15. Weather was extremely hot and windless, or wet, or blowing like mad. On top of that home maintenance projects, and an extended destination wedding-vacation in FL and my youngest son's college graduation up-state NY. Also it seemed that if the weather was fine the tide was completely wrong. I'm almost embarrassed to admit that I got out just six times. There were a couple of marginal days in terms of wind (+/- 15 knots) but unless I have crew, I usually will not go out. I did enjoy a couple of days fishing on a friend's power boat, and a sunset on another (dug for fresh clams for dinner too). The positive aspect of the season is that I sailed with my wife, sons or friends five of the six days. In Maine last week, my wife and I took a Windjammer cruise which was great fun. I'm not so disappointed as the summer was very busy.

Brian: I'm glad Hurricane Lee didn't spoil your trip to Maine!

Pulling my boat out Monday Oct 2nd. Haven't got out as much as I want too, but the weather didn't cooperate. I did have three really good sails so as I mentioned before, its been quality vs quantity. The last month has been spent playing with my new rolling furler that I finally installed the end of August. Also with the leaky exhaust manifold on my Honda whenever I've had to use it, I have to take the cover off or it gets smothered. The engine is quite loud without the cover, my winter project.
