Today I realized exactly what it means to be retired.

My last 10 years of employment I worked 16 hours a day 6 days a week.  I worked 42 - 16 hour days in a row in 2018.  Retired in 2019 and kept thinking I was messing up by not going to work. One morning after showering I started panicking because I couldn't find my uniform or duty belt. My wife had to remind me I'm retired.  Today we live outside a small town where 99% of the residents are retired. Social gatherings and events are scheduled any and all days of the week because every day is the weekend. If the lawn needs mowing but the winds are good, the lawn waits.

Everyday is a weekend when you are retired ;D .

Except yesterday.  Normally try to minimize my driving.  No issue keeping below my 7500 mile annual limit for a break on the truck insurance. Just broke 29,000 miles on a +7 y/o truck. So, Wednesdays are Senior discount days at the IGA (grocery store), dairy day, library day, and in the winter a morning snowboarding session. Had some library material due. My normal confused state of mindlessness. Thought it was Wednesday.  Because I'm at the library. Good thing the librarian knew what day it was. Monday! Last Wednesday there was good sailing wind. Went sailing. Went to the grocery store and dairy the next day. Was wondering why I didn't get my Senior discount? The cashier who has known me for years noted it's not Wednesday.
