So several years later we finally splashed the WWP 19!

You cannot view this attachment.

We got to the ramp no problem, setup and launched.
Made a quick lap of the harbor.
Headed toward the outlet under sail.
Snapped off the tiller.
Popped the lower pintle out and twisted up the top gudgeon, almost lost the rudder.
Flooded the outboard.
Dropped the anchor and figured everything out.
Got the outboard started and limped back to the ramp.
Success!

You might be able to get some of the rudder hardware at Duckworks for half price as they have carried parts in the past. Use the code GETFIFTYOFF. They are going out of business so I would check them out. I own a Potter 19 and haven't had rudder problems but did have the tiller crack along a glue line. I found it easy to sail.

I think I'm too late for a tiller; nothing comes up with that search. The gudgeons are from Duckworks but I think I can torque back the bent one. It's sad that they're closing but it looks like it's mostly being consolidated with Gig Harbor. Hope everyone does well.

All is well that ends well  ;D  We couldn't get the tiller to fit or the sail to raise all the way on our shakedown cruise. Kinks that have long ago been worked out. Congrats!

Murphy's Law is still in effect I see. Shake it off and keep going. Hope your wife (?) is not easily discouraged. I think my wife is worn out on all the "adventures" - LOL

The kids were really excited to go but my better half is waiting until we work the bugs out. She's a lot smarter than me.

You will get there. It often seems that at first you expect something to break or not go as planned and when it doesn't you are pleasantly surprised. Once you have it all down then you will still be working on the boat because you see ways to improve it. One way or another it seems there is always something to work on.
