Ya know, that verse Gordon Lightfoot sung tells so much in just a few words. "The dawn came late... and the breakfast had to wait."  Bad weather, no doubt about it, and totally different than today at my house. It's nice, and while not COOL, it is at least bearable. We'll see what the day holds, as we usually get a thunderstorm in the afternoon on the 4th, and the afternoon is almost always different than the morning on this shore. It's been a tradition for a long time for us. Swim, eat good, and get ran inside by the lightning. Somehow I think that one might not make it today. It's a good day. Here. From my side of the picture.

Good day here - clear skies started mid 70's this morning expecting mid 80's later. Expecting a few friends for BBQ and swimming, then fireworks. Importantly - lets remember the reasons for our Declaration of Independence and the freedoms we enjoy.

The boat is not ready yet to be launched and the skipper (me) is still on the mend. I never did like the craziness at the ramp or on the water July 4th. I'm estimating to have the boat (and me) ready to sail the last week of July or first week in August. Yea, a shortened season but I'm thankful that I am healing well.

"Healing well"

That's good news! As for myself, I'd rather give a bobcat an enema than be out on the water on the 4th  :D  We broke the chain and remained rain free all day long. And the pina colada flag cake was GREAT!!!You cannot view this attachment.

Visited my daughter in Indy for the holiday. I did a few handyman choirs for her during the day. Grilled supper. They had a neighborhood parade, bouncy houses, food trucks, and face painting. Her neighbor did his own fireworks which we enjoyed. Lasted almost 2 hours!!! Lovely day and evening.
