Try easing your mainsheet.
Keep the mast out of the water and it won't leak NEARLY so much water!!

Been rebuilding my swing keel and was going great guns until . . .
Hit the hole again with the poly-carbide disk and it is definitely wet...water in the lam.
What should I do?

I am having difficulties raising the mast on my Nimble 24 and did not have much luck with more traditional gin-pole arrangements.

Yes, this comes up from time to time.
Quit fooling with all that Leverage/Physics stuff and go to an Army Surplus store and get you a half dozen JATO (Jet Assisted Take Off) Bottles.
You cannot view this attachment.
Affix one to the top of your mast with some light polypropylene line or parachute cord so it snaps off when the mast reaches vertical.   
The Truly Marlinspike Sailor will arrange his trailer, so that any Jet Skis or other "Lake Lice" are down-range of the JATO bottle!!

Lake Lice? My term for those things is Water Roach. The only difference is the time of day that they come out.

I really like the JATO system for mast raising. Do they come with a self-destruct for when they hit the roach?
