A fall day in the middle of a heat wave, thank you Beryl

I have great compassion for those negatively affected by Hurricane Beryl.  I've been there many times; without power for weeks in the hottest part of the year, standing in lines at the ice house to try to get a block to salvage what food we have, firing up the chain saw to cut trees off the house and all the other "gifts" brought by serious storms.

That said, yesterday was a dream day.  In the middle of a period of time when heat indexes are running from 105 to 115, we had a fall day.  Temps in the high seventies, breezy, cloud cover and a little light rain in the early morning.  It was a result of Beryl passing just close enough but not too close, and a high pressure front steering the storm.  Delightful but short lived.

So true. Nature giveth and Nature taketh away.
What a difference a front makes in temperature and steering weather.

Go take a hot shower with your clothes on and don't dry off and walk outside. That's pretty much what it feels like here. :o
