There are acorns galore this year and every morning I have to blow off the patio to keep from tracking crushed acorns everywhere. The leaves are falling at a good clip too, and I'm sure those that are still in the trees are loosening their grip. They've all changed color too; much more browns and golds have appeared. The popcorns trees are putting on a crimson show too. And spotting a dragonfly has become an event again.

Meanwhile there has been no relenting in the dry weather. The dust is amazing. I thought I smelled rain this morning before dawn but it might have been hope. Such weather is good for fishing and sailing but I'm eyeing the deluge of leaves to come when we finally get that cool norther and a stiff wind. Thanksgiving looms and already we're collecting goodies for it. I haven't seen a turkey yet but know it's coming. One of my favorite holidays.

We're doing maintenance on houses and stuff while the sun is shining. (And boat too, btw). Soon enough that rain will come and we'll be waking up to cold. I'm a lot like Charlie Jones, I consider it cold when I have to wear socks. The fish are still biting and I've been plotting a trip to the beach. Maybe a fish fry with some old work buddies. I noticed there weren't as many terns as there has been on the last run through. It's time for serious fishing I'd imagine, when the little ones have grown up. I've been trying to schedule maintenance on the boats THERE but haven't made it yet. Maybe this week after we patch up from the water leak we had in the bathroom.
