Right now, continuous.  Seven potential rotations, two confirmed touchdowns with tall debris signatures, all around us.  Nothing to do but wait and watch from the safe place.  The local weather guys (fantastic folks) are manning the screens with up to the second info. By the street, you go into your safe place, or you can come out. Going to be a long afternoon.

To make matters worse a major natural gas line blew up last week injuring several workers seriously and requiring the shutdown of every gas meter in the town.  There are approximately 600 Atmos trucks trying to shut off everyones gas at the meter, then, when repairs are made, they have to go house by house, bleed all lines, inspect the gas using devices and turn it all back on.  So many homes have been without hot water, cooking gas and central heat, although the heat hasn't been a problem. They can't work in this weather so start up of that is going to be delayed.

And the whole area is under a flash flood warning.

And currently about a thousand customers are down from electric power outages, and that number is expected to go up significantly.

It is always eye-opening just how fragile infrastructure and supply chains truly are. Many just take these things for granted, but when it happens over and over again to it becomes more of a reality. I know you have had more than your share it seems. Hope things get up and running soon. That stuff is headed our way. we have had tornado damage in our area more than once since living here.

Months of this scary weather passing through your area. It concerns me about your safety. Those pogo tornadoes are too frightening.

Several tornado warnings in Alabama currently, with the front headed our way. Rain from this line is just starting. Heavy stuff should be here in a couple or three hours. The 2011 tornado outbreak hit this area pretty hard. And there was another outbreak a few years after that that hit pretty close to us.

And an earthquake???? OK, we've had our share in the Sip.  That's about enough of this....

Was awaken at 6:23 am to a severe thunderstorm warning and were also on the edge of a tornado warning south of us. We had two tornado warning trapezoids south of us, and another one about 40 minutes later to the east of us. It's sunny now at 10:14. As far as earthquakes go small ones are a very common occurrence near Elgin, SC about 55 miles northeast of us. I am talking 19 within 60 miles of the place in 2024. These are small in the 2-3 range. They already had one this year.

Mendenhall got smacked. It was twisting the pines off above the ground and shooting that debris 25,ooo ft. high. Listen to Ryan Hall, Y'all on YouTube. Great coverage. We lost electricity for about 30 min. but that was it other than plenty of leaves and a few twigs.  And it's Springing this morning...everything is blooming.

I told my wife that McComb was the tornado capital of the world. I'd invest in a shelter if I lived in that area. I think a lot of Mississippi tornadoes go unreported because they touch down away from habitation and are gone before anyone sees them.
