I had already cut out meats, salads, Portabella Mushrooms, cheeses, etc. from the ice chest.
It's really just beverages, now.
Not really sure I can hack room temperature (or worse!) water and Gatorade, to say nothing of the carbonated beverages.  :-\
A large thermos of ice-water mitigates beverage storage a lot, until it runs out.
I came back with 8 beverages, (4 waters, 2 Gatorades, & two cans of soda) which sounds like over-packing, except those are also emergency liquids, in case I got stuck somewhere, for some reason.
I really like the form factor, of the cooler my son gifted me for my last birthday, but I used to go 2 -3 days on ice (on a much bigger cooler) and now can only go for 1 day of ice.

Doug, Once again, ahead of me on the equipment curve! (Tents, coolers, etc.) Thanks for the links.
12 volt refrigerators are a non-starter for me, for two reasons:
1) Will start putting me over my calculated energy consumption curve and I'm happy, at being at near-equilibrium.
2) The sizes, are all as big as the 53 Qt. cooler I used to use on Urchin.
I could use that same cooler aboard the Irish Pennant, it's just that I'm afraid it would get in the way and require a lot more moving everything around, to deal with it.

That Norwegian Oyster cooler really got my attention.
Being half the cost of my SAIL,  >:(  also got my attention.
Going to have to ponder that one . . . . . .

Thanks all,
Charles Brennan

Could you maybe freeze the bottles of drinks, to use them to keep themselves cool?
