Washburn City Marina

If heading up to this area and planning to use the Washburn City Marina. All the new paving is in.  Huge steel plate covers the dip in the ramp caused by the power loader/launchers.  Vela only needs 28" of depth to launch.  My trailer wheels are a couple feet uphill from the plate.

Met a nice couple from Montana.  Larger trailer sailboat.  No issues launching or retrieving.  They had a nice couple weeks enjoying L. Superior sailing.  Plan to return.  Cool weather, calm to moderate (F5) winds, no real rainy days or nights. No bugs.  JMHO, May and June are nice if you don't mind the cooler conditions. Sept and October are nicer with more consistent wind to strong winds and warmer water.  July and August. For the tourist that like mellow and warm conditions.
