Talbot, Nope.
One clicks on the sentence that says: "Click or drag files here and attach them." at the bottom of the text edit box.
Then one selects the image to add.
The image then uploads to the bottom of the page and has two symbols: an up arrow with a bar over it and an "X"
Clicking on the "X" will delete the image after giving a warning prompt: (Do you really want to do this?)
Clicking on the blue up arrow with a bar will open a drop down menu that allows you to set the pixel height and width (don't recommend it; get it backwards and you end up with fun-house mirror-type images) and also has an"Insert" button.
Click on that "insert" button and the software automatically inserts the HTML code that allows your pic to be integrated in your text, like this:
You cannot view this attachment.
Don't click on the insert button and your upload will only be a link at the bottom of the post.

If you posted stuff with 30 or 40 pics in it, like I do,  :-[  this would be all automatic to you.
Before a recent Bulletin Board software upgrade, you used to get the insert button as soon as the image uploaded.
And apparently, it's not as intuitive to users, as before the upgrade.

(Cue Star Trek's Doctor McCoy: ) "What did they do to Sick Bay?  ???  I know Engineers!  >:(  They LOVE to change things!"  >:(

Hope this helps,
