I have just completed the build of what must be one of the smallest 12v reverse osmosis desalinators making it suitable for a trailerable cruising yacht.
Based on a secondhand Katadyn Power survivor 40e now cased in a cheap (A$99) pelican case copy from a local auto parts store.
At 20.4kgs with all piping, spare filter, pickling and lubrication fluid and a variety of spare parts it is small and robust enough to be carried on a trailer sailer I feel.
Pictures below. Happy to give anyone more details of they would like. 🙂You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment. You cannot view this attachment.

A$2,300 all up. Secondhand Katadyn Power Survivor 40e with new spare membrane, pickling fluid, multiple new prefilter cartridges, seal replacement kit, 2x spare two way valves was A$2000 from Facebook marketplace. Case was A$99 from Supercheap Auto and the remainder some hose, fittings and bushes from a caravan and hardware store.
