Off Season OT: Haul out of Godspeed

Sneaking in here for a little diversion. Off season every other year we haul out Godspeed for hull work (caulking, painting). She is 68 feet LOW, draft of 7 feet, and 72 long tons. A masterful job by the captain to slip her into the travel lift, given narrow approach and lots of windage, and steering with crude rudder and twin diesels. Puts our small boat issues in perspective!

We grew up in VA. Our 5th grade school trip was to Williamsburg/Jamestown. To a my mind they were small ships to be crossing oceans in.

I knew there must be some way to insert, thanks for the tip. And yes, not only the size, but how the 3 ships sailed together the entire distance, despite differences in size and speed. The winds/currents were fairly well understood by that time, but still....
