It's been almost 6 years since Bobby and I towed this 1938 Sandy Douglas one off to Columbus. The boat is in Bobby's barn, and while I've stepped back a lot, he goes out there every day and chips away at it. We are thinking that we'll sail it this summer. Looking back, we know that there was more to this project than we ever imagined, and Bobby has raised the bar as he's progressed. We have all of the parts, and sails are ordered. I think that I can give some time for the next couple of months.

The Crealock 31 sits at the marina in Cornucopia Wisconsin, waiting for attention. First project is to pull the rudder and work on the crack along the seam on the leading edge. I'm thinking that it's sitting 12 inches above the ground, so a 6 to 8 inch trench should do the job. I'm hoping to get up there in late April and get it out of the boat. I suppose that the ground might still be frozen or that there could be snow laying about.

Yay! That doesn't even look like the same boat! Fine job. One day I'd love to have a boat with teak decks.
