What have I done?!

Last week, about middle of the week, my left forearm came up lame. I don't know how else to say it.

I'm thinking, what have I done to my arm? Then it hit me. On that Monday we bought a used treadmill off of Marketplace. It was pretty big so I needed to use my little Harbor Freight trailer to pick it up. I keep the trailer at the back of my lot under a tarp. The ground was soft so I decided to manually pull the trailer to the front and hook it up to my vehicle.  My lot has some grade to it, but I'd done this before (never again!). It takes a good pull to do it. I grab the tongue and safety chains and just tug. I didn't notice any particular muscle pull or strain during the process, but that had to be what did it.

Now my arm is killing me! It is just about as sore as any muscle soreness I have ever had. To top it off, yesterday I was working out on my bowflex and wanted to do a rowing exercise. Something pulled in that forearm! Man, did that hurt!! No way was I going to be able to do that exercise.

Now to the real bummer. You know what that means when you sail a sail/oar boat... yea, that's right: you have to row. There is no way I can row a boat right now. Sometimes I have to really pull on those oars, especially if I have an opposing wind.

I have no idea how long it will take for this arm to heal. It is really, really sore!

We'll just have to be patient and see.

At least my legs are still good for now, so I'll keep training for that backpacking trip.

Oh how do I know! I did the same thing the other day- moving a trailer to hook it up to the truck. And paid for it later that evening. Currently I'm fighting the medical system trying to get new eyes (cataracts). Hint: They get bent out of shape if you are not currently under their "umbrella". And so I have to get clearance from everyone and their brother, which means it's pushing the eye deal back into REAL sailing season. Sigh, nothing is ever simple anymore. Wait! I take that back. I changed spark plugs on the Honda the other day and that was the simplest, easiest mechanic job I've ever done. All in all, I guess we just have to live with whatever happens :)

Hope you heal up soon!

Dale, Saw this recently and thought of you:
You cannot view this attachment.
Last June, while out Scalloping with my Grandson, he put the RIB re-entry ladder on the port side, instead of starboard, where I usually set it.  Thought nothing of it at the time, until I re-boarded and the different side and bow angle, caused me to pull something near an elbow.
Killed the rest of Scalloping Season for me.
It is just now, coming back to normal functioning, for me.

So the hackneyed phrase: "I know how you feel!"   :(  Is accurate, this time.

Feel better,

Yep, I've had injuries, muscle and tendon issues that took months and months to heal. Hopefully a few weeks will do this one.

And I've seen that meme and others like it. Sadly true!
