One of the very best part of this wonderful forum is the people I've become friends with .
I was invited to stay for a few days with Tom Parrent in his new home in central Michigan .
Part of the invitation was a chance to meet his bride Yenz . What an absolutely charming and adorable young woman .
The last time I saw his son Spike he was in a hospital bed being prepped for brain surgery . He has now finished his first year of college at a prestigious film college .
I would not say Tom has elevated his standards in every aspect of his , he now pilots a pontoon boat around the lake, but hey at least he is still on the water
He said to say hello to those who still remember him . One of the very finest people I've ever met . I'm honored to be his friend .  Oh yes , he let me wire his basement , put up a few walls and repair his irrigation pump before telling me I was overstaying my welcome 😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉

Ain't it the truth! Hi Tom, I'm glad to see you and family are well and am jealous of the pontoon boat ;D

Sharing a mutual interest in sailing, boating and things nautical is only part of appeal of this forum. I find honesty, humility and willingness to share experiences and knowledge that go beyond what is typical of most forums. No machismo attitudes, hubris or "I told you so". Everyone is respected and accepted.
