Got a nice weather day yesterday and prepped the boat; totally ready for launch (except for a coat of wax). First order of business was cleaning the foredeck, cockpit, basically everything. Discovered that "Fantastic" spray cleaner got the deep stains out of the non-slip without much scrubbing. Gave all the blocks and cam cleats lube, and new cotter pins on everything that used them. Inspected inch-by-inch standing rigging as well. It took well over two hours just put everything back on board such as electronics and compass, porta-potty, battery, life vests  and fire extinguisher. Perhaps the most frustrating job was removing the old registration sticker. A plastic scrapper, hot blow dryer and alcohol finally got all the glue and sticker off. Overall, spent about six hours on the little boat.

Good to know about fantastic and also about your technique for removing old registration stickers. I allow myself to cover one and then I have to remove them before putting on any more.

Awesome Brian! First time you get out sailing, all that work will be worth it.

I'm like Tom, I'll put one or two on top of the last one before removing. I find they come off a lot easier if there are 2 or 3 layers' worth.

Great job, Brian! Great info about Fantastic. I did a foam cannon pass and then a Star Brite non-skid cleaner pass on my non-skid, and was surprised what a great job that combination did. I also HATE trying to remove stripes/decals/lettering off the hull-- WHAT a PITA! I've tried most everything including those eraser wheels for drills, chemicals and heat and don't like any of it.

Sounds good Brian!  I use Goo-Gone for removing stickers and found that it works quite well. About $5 at ACE hardware or $1.25 for really small bottle at some local Dollar Trees here.
