I was surprised at the range question when I was looking for my Windrose 18 back in 2018. I was looking to downsize from a 23-footer due to a change in tow vehicle, but I did want a sailboat with a cabin. The options available of any kind are limited, and those that were on the market were extremely limited. I lived outside of Baltimore and found myself looking at boats in Maine, all the way across the Midwest. For some reason it was perfectly reasonable in my head to do a multi-day trip to pick up an appropriately sized trailerable sailboat because there were so few to be had at the price point that I was willing to pay (<$4k). Ended up buying in January from a cabinet maker in southern MD because I had some serious FOMO going on after failing in my search for months.

All that said, you never know who is out there looking and what they really are after!
