Yesterday the seller accepted our offer for this Pacific Seacraft Crealock 31. Tami and I are super excited. Tami is actually more excited than I am! I think that we were lucky to be prospecting at this time of year, and the seller was motivated, so I think we did well. A friend of mine says that you should offer half the asking price. I wasn't that bold, but did well enough.

Crealock designed the 37 for world passages, and then drew this condensed version with the same abilities. I've always been interested in tiny things, like tiny boats, which lead me to trailer sailors. Now a tiny blue water boat is a makes sense. I don't know if we'll ever get out there, but with this boat, we can keep the dream.

We hope to spend a couple of weeks outfitting her in early June, and then take some time cruising Lake Superior, before meandering back to Lake Erie.

Between Tami and I, and our x's this will be about the 14th sailboat. I've been happy with each one that I was involved in. This is the oldest, at 36 years, but maybe the best built. Hopefully we've learned a thing or two along the way. My first Thistle was 20 years old when I bought her, she's 60 now. It was probably the worst purchase that I made, but maybe the one I love the most.

You're going to need a bigger trailer... ;D
