Last night the Moon was an orange circle.  Clear early night sky.  Details of the Moon's surface features were clear with the naked eye.  iPhone SE (2020) snapshot out of the living room window. You cannot view this attachment.

No juice in camera batteries.  Hopefully similar view tonight.

No tides on L. Superior.  Could be interesting in areas that normally have significant tides.

Nice picture Noel. I will try to look for it tonight.

I remember a sunrise over Lake Michigan where there was a white fog over the water and the sun was a small red ball. There was a thin red line, like your picture above, where the sunbeam caught the water on its way to shore.

I'm due for a night-time pier fishing trip. I reloaded on the gold spoons and top-water spook. It's just a matter of going, although the conditions aren't what I like. The wind has moved to SW, the WORST quadrant, and there is zero bird activity. Very high heat too. A flood tide instead of the ebb I prefer. The one good part of the equation is there hasn't been any rain and that drives the salinity way up. You can always catch SOMETHING if you are patient enough. Sometimes you see something amazing too....And a beautiful moon always makes things better at night.

I missed it last night. We had a thunderstorm and rain just after sunset. I had spent time cleaning and fixing gutters earlier in the day, so I got to enjoy seeing/hearing those working.
