Morro Bay Recommendations?

We're a bit late here, but we made a last-minute decision to cancel our family camping trip to Clear Lake where we were planning to sail August 4-6. Between the water quality right now and the 95+ highs, it just didn't seem like it would be enjoyable for my wife, 3 year old, and 5 year old. We then considered Huntington but campsites are full and the cabin reviews scared us off. We're now stuck between a cabin at Berryessa (any thoughts welcome) or going down to Morro Bay.

We've stayed in Morro Bay 3 times in the past (hotels twice, an RV once) but never with a boat. Just some surfing and relaxation. Any general tips on coming down with a boat? Or some direct questions:
- Suggestions on where I could keep my boat in the water Friday-Sunday morning?
- Where might I be able to keep the trailer? We'd likely stay in a hotel and I don't think they'd have space for the trailer.
- How's the sailing?
- Any fishing to be had?
